Rapid Prototyped Models
Rapid Prototyping at iRSM allows us to create solid three dimensional models to help surgeons and clinicians facilitate a patient’s treatment plan. Solid models created from CT data allow surgeons to accurately depict the bony anatomy and identify potential challenges they may encounter before surgery. Rapid prototyping is also used for intra oral and extra oral facial prosthetics. Surface scan data is acquired and manipulated in virtual ‘sculpting’ software to produce a 3d rendering of a prosthesis. This information is sent to a rapid prototype device where the digital data is printed producing a 3d solid wax model of the prosthesis.
